SMS Compliance

Last updated September 2026

Reach, a product of Simplafy Inc. doing business as Private Car Finder, helps dealerships in the United States and Canada send compliant SMS. This page explains how that messaging is set up to comply with carrier requirements, A2P 10DLC and Canadian messaging rules, the U.S. TCPA, and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and the rights every recipient has.

Who operates this messaging service

Reach is operated by Simplafy Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as Private Car Finder. Simplafy Inc. is the software provider that provisions and configures messaging on behalf of the dealerships that use Reach.

What these messages are

Reach messages are conversational and transactional communications between a car dealership and a person who has contacted that dealership or consented to be contacted by it. Typical messages respond to a vehicle inquiry, answer questions about a specific vehicle, confirm or reschedule an appointment, or follow up on a prior conversation.

Example message: “Hi Sarah, it’s Alex at Riverside Motors. You asked about the 2021 RAV4 last week. It’s still available. Want to come take a look Saturday? Reply STOP to opt out.”

Reach is not used for unsolicited marketing blasts, and it is never used for high-risk content such as loans, gambling, cannabis, or adult material.

Your dealership is the registered sender

Reach sends messages through a dedicated phone number included with your Dealership or Enterprise membership (or your own lines, if you connect them). Private Car Finder provisions and configures the number and its registrations, but your dealership is the registered brand of record for the messages you originate, and you are responsible for the consent behind every one.

That means the required registrations (below) are made for your business, and you are responsible for keeping them accurate and for the consent behind every message.

A2P 10DLC (United States)

U.S. application-to-person messages are sent over 10-digit long codes (10DLC). We register your brand and campaigns with The Campaign Registry and route traffic only through registered, carrier-approved campaigns. Messaging is conversational and operational, responding to inquiries, qualifying leads, scheduling appointments, and following up, not unsolicited marketing blasts.

Canadian messaging (CASL)

For recipients in Canada, messaging must comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You must have valid express or implied consent, clearly identify your dealership in each message, and provide a working unsubscribe mechanism that is honored promptly. Messages to Canadian numbers are delivered through the major Canadian carriers (including Rogers, Bell, and Telus) and their sub-brands.

How consumers opt in (call to action)

Consent is collected by the dealership, not on this website. There is no public sign-up form here, because the people who receive these messages are the dealership’s own customers and leads, not visitors to privatecarfinder.com.

Consent is captured in one of four ways: (1) a consumer submits a lead form on the dealership’s own website that includes the SMS disclosure below; (2) a consumer completes a printed or digital form in the dealership that includes the same disclosure; (3) a consumer texts the dealership first; or (4) a consumer provides their mobile number to the dealership during a purchase or service visit and agrees to be contacted by text.

In every case, the following disclosure is shown next to the phone number field, with an unchecked consent box the consumer must select: “By providing your mobile number and checking this box, you agree to receive text messages from [Dealership Name] about your inquiry, including messages sent using automated technology. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.”

Dealerships are required to keep records of that consent, and must be able to produce them on request.

Consent: obtained by the dealership

Because you are the sender, you are responsible for obtaining and keeping records of the legally required consent from every person you message (prior express written consent where required under the TCPA, and express/implied consent under CASL).

Consent is never purchased, rented, or obtained from a third-party list, and phone numbers are never shared between dealerships. Each dealership may message only the consumers who consented to hear from that dealership.

Opt-out and help

Every recipient can stop messages at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, CANCEL, or END. Opt-outs are honored immediately and confirmed with a message such as: “You are unsubscribed and will receive no further messages.”

Replying HELP or INFO returns support contact information and a reminder that the recipient can reply STOP to unsubscribe. Canadian recipients can also unsubscribe using the mechanism in the message.

Message frequency and rates

Message frequency varies based on the conversation and the recipient’s replies. Message and data rates may apply depending on the recipient’s carrier and plan.

Supported carriers

United States: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and UScellular, plus the MVNOs and regional carriers that route through them. Canada: Rogers, Bell, Telus, and their sub-brands. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Mobile data privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of data sharing exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; that information will not be shared with any third parties.

Neither Simplafy Inc. nor the dealership shares, sells, leases, or rents consumer mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, SMS consent, or the content of SMS messages to any third party for their own marketing. Mobile information is used only to operate the messaging service and is disclosed only to the messaging providers required to deliver the messages. See our Privacy Policy for details.
